To convert notes into flashcards quickly: highlight every discrete fact, write one card per fact immediately after studying (not hours later), and skip anything you don’t understand — those need more study, not a card. A 30-minute study session should produce 5–15 cards.
The 10-Minute Method
Read your notes once. Highlight key facts — definitions, dates, formulas, names. Then write one card per highlighted fact. Front: the question implied by the fact. Back: the fact itself, in your own words. Stop after 15 cards. Put them all in Box 1. See the Leitner System guide for the next step.
What Not to Card
Don’t card things you don’t understand, background context, or facts from topics you’ve already mastered. Cards for things you don’t understand just clog Box 1. Study the concept first; card it after. Use the quality checklist to test every card before adding it.
