Leitner System Schedule (3/5/7 Box)

The Leitner system schedule determines how often each box is reviewed. A 3-box schedule uses daily, every-2-days, and every-4-days intervals. A 5-box schedule extends to 8 and 16 days. Choose based on how much time you have and how large your deck is.

3-Box Schedule

Box 1: daily. Box 2: every 2 days. Box 3: every 4 days. Download the free 3-Box Schedule PDF for a printable weekly grid.

5-Box Schedule

Box 1: daily. Box 2: every 2 days. Box 3: every 4 days. Box 4: every 8 days. Box 5: every 16 days (learned). Download the free 5-Box Schedule PDF with a 28-day calendar grid.

7-Box Schedule

Extends to every 32 and 64 days. Best for large decks where some cards need very long intervals. Most people don’t need 7 boxes. See the full comparison at 3 vs 5 vs 7 boxes.

How to Adjust Your Schedule

If Box 1 reviews are taking more than 15 minutes, your intervals may be too short — lengthen Box 2’s interval. If you’re forgetting a lot at Box 3, shorten its interval. The Leitner System guide covers schedule adjustment in more detail.
